Small auto for ±R170K ?

So 3 months before being totally car debt free, my wife's car was stolen last week. :mad:

I am looking for a small used car in the R170K range. She wants an auto, but I don't know exactly what I am looking for.

I have seen that the Rio/I20 only have 4 speed autos and they can be a little thirsty, so I am not too keen on them.

I think we have narrowed the search to 3 makes (non turbo). Which would be the better option?

I30- 1.6 6 gears
Cerato - 1.6 6 gears
Jazz- 1.5 5 gears

What should I be looking out for?
 
Indeed the 4 speed auto on I20 is rubbish. Nothing happens when you put your foot down :P

You only looking at non turbo?

VOLKSWAGEN GOLF VI 1.6 TDI COMFORTLINE DSG would also be a good choice.

Yeah you don't buy any of these cars for soul.

The Honda Jazz is out and out the most reliable, versatile and very light on juice car of the lot though.

We just had a Polo stolen. I might pass on VW this time.


Only looking at non Turbo at the moment. I might try a test drive in the Fiesta.
