Smaller / Independent ISP Recommendations

It appears you forgot Cape Connect Internet

3.4 from 61 reviews on Google
3.4 from 41 reviews on HelloPeter

You may also want to compare apples with apples and go to https://bgp.he.net and then list the number of IP addresses each ISP has allocated to it.

This will give an idea as to the clientbase of each of these ISPs and will quickly show who's been buying reviews and who has reviews in line with current trends where nobody says anything good, but is quick to complain when the smallest thing goes wrong with their internet.

For example
Atomic 3584 IP addresses
Cape Connect Internet 10240 IP addresses
iBits 11264 IP addresses
RocketNet 11264 IP addresses
Vanilla 26624 IP addresses

Top smaller vs top big (from recent MyBB ranking article) - the Hello Peter ratings seem very different for the bigger and smaller ISPs.

Figured out you can get the Google reviews on the maps site (if not visible in the main google search).

I guess the Hello Peter scores are very different because they don't let people remove their reviews.

Only snag with counting IPs - it's much harder to get IPs over the last 5 years than the 5 years before that. So the older IPs will probably just have more.

Disgruntled clients usually go to Hellopeter to complain. If a client's line is always working and they never have an issue they seldom think about the internet as it always works let alone going to Hellopeter to give a 5 star. Google sends out suggestions to rate places randomly so it generates more reviews.

I suspect the issue is also that Google lets people change the review after they get a response / solution. I think Hello Peter just collects negative reviews without a way to go change it.
