Windows is getting a major security feature — but needs a factory reset

Microsoft has announced a new security feature for Windows 11 called Smart App Control, but to activate it, existing users of the operating system have to factory reset their PCs.

PCWorld reported that new Windows 11 devices would ship with the latest security feature enabled, but users who already have Windows 11 will have to reset their PCs.

Can already see what's going to happen: A lot of perfectly safe programmes that I like will stop working as Windows crashes in and tell me it's dangerous and I don't know what I am doing.

And that is why you wait before upgrading...

All your apps are belong to us.
This has been coming for a while. MS wants control over every piece of code running on your pc. The "requirements" for secure boot was just a step in that direction. Why I don't think my upgrade from Windows 7 will be another windows.
