Smartphone users less likely to upgrade

Looking at the iphone rumour list... doesnt seem like theres any innovation in the smartphone market (at least from apple).

The aren't anything to go by. Like the article says, since Apple re-invented the touch screen nothing's really happened in the smart phone market. Everyone jumped on the touch screen bandwagon and has stayed on I guess waiting for the next big thing. Maybe they're waiting for Apple to do something else and jump onto that as they did with the tablet.

I thin you are spot on with this. First someone can out with a color screen and a camera, then everyone jumped on that.
Then someone started playing music through your phone, everyone jumped on that.
Then touch screen and GPS navigation came along, everyone jumped on that.

It seems like they everyone has just been adding small features and improvements but nothing major over the last few years. I got an iPhone 4S in Jan and can't see myself honestly upgrading again next year when my contract is up. My phone does everything I want it to do now, and none of the phones that have come out recently have been any kind of MAJOR improvement over it. Who knows, in a year and a half, a lot can change...
