Smash and Grab tint work ?

Even if a rock hits your windscreen, you are covered in glass shards. The film is there to prevent the whole window from imploding and throwing big pieces of glass everywhere. Same with the smash and grab. Your window will break, it's there to prevent the whole window from coming in so they can stick their hands in the car. It will never be fool proof, but does help. That is why normal window tint will do exactly the same thing :p

I'm pretty sure "normal tint" is thinner.

All side glass has a film of laminate in the middle to prevent long pieces of sharp glass from forming when it is broken.

The thin cheap tints will still allow an object, like a hand, to pass through because it will just tear.
So the glass will still shatter, be held in place by the cheap tint, but the tsotsi will still be able to make a hole easily enough.

I don't buy it. This whole smash and grab tint is a gimmick...

Selling you normal tint at 3x the price :p

Oh well, each to their own, my driver side window was smashed in a break in and the gimmicky film held all the pieces of glass together. Even during the clean up it didn't tear at all.
