Just got smashed and grabbed this morning in Bedfordview, never experienced any crime in Joburg before and always told my foreign friends how safe it is in Bedfordview. I guess I have to change my view now.

The guy smashed my passenger side window and took my phone attached to the dash for Google Map on my Alfa Spider... Gonna be a while before I can get the replacement glass here in SA.

So where are the hot spots nowadays?

Damn, sorry man. Hope you good though.

Love the interior in your ride.

I get schit scared when I drive on William Nicol after the N1 heading to fourways in peak traffic, that area is just rotten with thieves looking for a car to destroy.

I was smash and grabbed about 3 years ago. I now no longer use a visible phone mount for my GPS, rather keep it in my pocket listening to voice prompts. I also do not do a car without anti smash and grab with tint so they don't even try.

Ai man, sorry to see this. Hope you get new window glass dorted soon. And as others said, add smash and grab as soon as you can.

You should post some more interior pics, that looks very nice. You alfa people are stingy with your pics, if I drove any of your cars I would've posted about it constantly, or until others got annoyed at least.

Shucks man - sorry that happened.

Good luck with getting things sorted.

sorry to hear

luckily for me i have had no smash n grabs ever, i feel safer on my motorbike than in a car everyday

They will have to steal my bike in order to get to my cellphones, wallet, lunch etc as everything is hidden away in the 'frunk' as they call it on the Honda NC750X DCT

Good Luck with your repair

I sometimes feel uneasy when they get close to me.. But overall, yeah. Feels safer on the bike. That being said, I don't have a metal bolt in helmet like some people.. :)

I wonder if you grab one of these guys by the arm and assault them how much schite one would get in.

He leaned all the way over through the passenger window to get at the phone in the mount?

That's pretty brazen

sorry man :-( the hotspots are pretty much anywhere traffic sits for an extended period of time. I got smashed and grabbed 2 years ago, got covered in glass, cuts, bruises and blood. I stupidly pulled the guy into the car and kept dragging him over the glass :-(. The amount of blood from him and me wasn't easy to clean up.

And now - you have AIDS right?

You should know that having a phone attached to your dash is just asking for problems.unfortunately in this country you have to hide everything away.

If you drove any of their cars you wouldn't have time to post anything between all the towing and pushing it from place to place your time would be spent on

It would almost be worth it. :) I still lust after a 159.
