Hi guys,

Is anyone using or does anyone know anything about SMC ADSL routers and SMC ADSL USB modems?

Thanks

I had TWO before and both sucked big-time ( talking about 2 years ago )...apparently it was sorta "incompatable" with the Telkom network in KZN, but i dont know how they are now...Like i said in a previous thread, Billion is a good way to go ;)

Thanks for the feedback.

What is the price of the Billion?

I can get the SMC7901BRA EU .. new for a very good price (R460.00)

I have a 4 port ADSL2 Barricade SMC7904BRA. Have had no problems. Got it for R500.

If you are NOT looking for wireless I can get you the Billion 5102 for R518.00.

If you are looking for wireless I can get you the Billion 7300G for R754.00 (Stock coming in next week.)

If you don’t live in Cape Town I can courier for an extra R50.00.

Check out www.billionsa.com for more information on Billion Modems.

PM me or email me at [email protected] if you need more information.

Got that one too - never had a problem. Even runs in bridged and pppoe modes at the same time which in itself is surprisingly useful. :)

bridged and pppoe modes at the same time???
I wonder if my billion 7202GR2 can do that. It doesnt say that anywhere in the manual. Any billion support tech out there??

Yeah - its great.

Hi linkinpark

Sorry for getting back so late.

If you go into the router's config page and then click on CONFIGURATION->WAN->ISP->Click on the EDIT under the MAIN WAN CONNECTION option->At the bottom of the page will be PPOE RELAY, tick that and then just create another "dial-up" connection in the network connections on your PC with your other ISP details.

Any problems you know where to reach me.;)

These settings is not for the 5102, 5102s and 5200

Yes but that is for the entry level Billion 5102S or 5200s...
terencevs is talking about the 5102 which will be like R100 more cause it has got 4 ethernet ports and not 1 like the 5102s and 5200s....:p

Just say i buy 1 and i have a problem with it, who do i call or how long will i wait for support?

I sell the 5200s for R392.00 way better than digital planet with delivery R442.00 still cheaper than digital planet :)

First of all, why would you have a problem with it, second it comes with 12 months guarantee. Support will be available 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Nah its cool I'll stick to my Billion. I get a 2 year warranty, and the price you pay for the routers and what you are getting, sjoe, and get almost 24hour support, they are quick man.

BILLION ROCKS DUDE!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Great marketing on your side for ur product anyway......:p

yes, 4 ports.

btw, if it doesn't have 4 ports (a switch), then i don't think it's called a router.
