Thanks for that, drawing the same conclusion from my research so far. I have settled on a Series 2 Bosch which seems to be a bit of an older model but has great reviews wherever I look.

I think it might be too tight a squeeze, also the worry that it just doesn't fit or rubs up against the counter. I wish there was some way I could try and fit it in before buying
Hopefully also comes with a 3-year warranty. Some Boschs are 2. And occasionally 5.

Watch out with Bosch. In South Africa even it's a 5 year warranty, after the first year the parts are covered, but labour charge is payable by the customer unless it's a small appliance.

I had the same issue, my space is 86CM. Needed a biggest single door that would fit as we had a 91cm double door (25 year old Defy) before. Samsung and LG's that fit in the space was around 80CM. But nowhere near the size of our current double door. Eventually went with the 70CM 490L Beko. Took an extended warranty on it and am hoping for the best. BTW, had to reverse the doors and had Defy technician come to do it. I asked him if he had any issues with the Beko fridges and he had high praises for the brand. It’s called a tape measure.
Similar position and I went with the Hisense 500L 70cm. Excellent build quality inside and out – really a cut above the usual Bosch, Defy and Hisense crap. Even better than the cheaper LG and Samsung stuff.
With 5 year warranty.

Make it make sense.Similar position and I went with the Hisense 500L 70cm. Excellent build quality inside and out – really a cut above the usual Bosch, Defy and Hisense crap. Even better than the cheaper LG and Samsung stuff.

I think what I've learnt to be the most important part of buying fridges are the plastic drawers that go in everywhere.
Will they last more than a year or two? And if they don't what do replacement costs? Because seeing what those cost with LG you might as well buy a new fridge.

You always get what you pay for. You surely do not think that cheap Boschs are the same build quality as expensive ones.
Yes they are. I have a el cheapo non frost free version and it's 10 years old now without issues. Broke one panel last year and was still able to get one shipped to me. Only reason I'll replace it is to get a frost free one.
Can't compare old fridges vs new. The era of relatively good build quality cheaper fridges/white goods is over (and when Boschs were actually Boschs and not rebranded crap shared amongst various brands).

Bosch is very much Bosch and doesn't rebrand other stuff. What you see as Bosch is made by Bosch.
Bosch and Siemens are the exact same thing just intended for different markets, but it's not a "rebrand" as such, more like a VW vs Audi.
And the cheapest ones are just as solid and reliable as the more expensive ones, it's a case of feature differences and materials more than anything else.
What you will however find with both Bosch and Siemens is that they aren't all features coming out of their ears and stick to core principles.
Yet you find the same Bosch/AEG/Siemens insides in some other brands' models, and other brands' insides in some Bosch/AEG/Siemens models. Some Boschs are even Samsungs and LGs.
Bosch and other brands often use the same OEMs, merely with different facades giving the illusion they are unique.
As a technical person I would expect you to be able to notice these things.
It's an awakening to many who hold on to false brand loyalty.

I won't get a frost free fridge again. It's not thirdworld friendly. With all the power interruptions it's better to have frost in the freezer.
