I've had a problem with this both on PAYG and Family topup contract:

The sms bundles all have an expiry date by which the sms's have to be completely used - problem is that Vodacom is cancelling the last sms's on the bundle before the expire date!!!

When you load an sms bundle on PAYG and check you balance it tells you "X sms messages expiring on XX-XX-XX". What they don't tell you is that if you don't use your sms's by about 2am on XX-XX-XX then they're gone.

On Family topup its even more of a problem - the contract sms bundles work on a similar principle. They are just loaded automatically on the first of the month with an expiry date of the last of the month. But because of when the expiry is processed - you effectively have no sms's on the last day of that month

As an example - on 27 feb i checked my sms balance: 19 sms's. Sent 4 messages in the evening and another the following morning. Then i check my sms balance again to find out how many msg's i can still send: 0 sms's  and i had to pay full premium rate for the rest of the day on the msg's i sent

Ambo, have you taken this up with the Call Desk?

Maybe drop them a mail with a description of your problem and ask for an explanation.

All these products are run by business rules that are strictly enforced at a system level. (One of the reasons, we're battling with pre-paid data).

Sometimes the systems break (like the "free" data one) and best is to report it immediately. Sometimes it's just a case of interpretation of the rules themselves.

you had to pay full premium rate? I was under the impressoin that once you've used up your 200 SMS's you pay 34c for each SMS outside the bundle?

That is correct - for the 200 bundles and up.

But i'm on the 100 bundle - normal rates out of bundle.
