SMS from Telkom for a refund

So I received this SMS from Telkom for a refund they owe us going back to December 2015 (for a landline cancelled back then) and the amount is correct to the cent. Is this how they are doing refunds these days, does it look legit and safe enough to send the requested info to this Ntobe person?

Dear Telkom customer your Telkom account number 0215555555 indicate that has a credit balance of R191.43 please email us your Bank Statement and copy of your ID Book to this email address Majolnc1@telkom.co.za Ntobe 0313631967

I also had to send in the same details for a refund. Send in only 1st page its to confirm your account number and bank i suppose. They got bugger all to do with whats going on there, even edit it with adobe pro if you really worried. networm@telkom.co.za was the email address I used.
