SMS spammers beware

I thought it was a friend I was sending it to... who else would sms me without me giving them my number!? Honest mistake.

'Onestly yer 'onor, if I knew it was the **** that sent me that **** ********** spam **** sms, I would have been real ********* polite to the mother****er

:D :D :D

Very well then...

will go to insultmonger.com and get some good insults to send "by mistake" to the spammer :D :D

re: MedScheme

I'm busy argueing with MedScheme over this very issue on hellopeter... they won't tell me where they got my number from, then tell me they and the advertising company are trying to contact me, but can't, saying my number is in correct, but when I ask for their number to contact them, they won't give it to me.

These companies are seriously unethical.

I see you're being persistent on hellopeter, don't give up!

Check this link out. It's in the context of email spam but the law applies to any "unsolicited commercial communications". They're breaking the law by not complying with your request. I've used it a couple of times on telemarketers and they become very cooperative once they know you're aware of your rights.

Where is this telemarketing bit stated or located ( as far as I can see the act does not apply to telemarketing in any way, unless automated )?

The direct marketing ombudsman sorted it out yesterday... she said she'd make sure they'll never contact me again. at least thats that done. So help them if they phone me again...

What I couldn't get was how MedScheme blatently lied about trying to contact me on hellopeter, then they handed it over to the ombudsman, providing her with my phone number, and she managed to get hold of me on the phone the first time she tried... I wonder if they can see the link?
