Hi,
Am having a problem on my Mac laptop for a long time....
When i am using my Vodacom mobile broadband router I cannot send emails. But if I change over to a fixed line wifi , then it goes through.
The error I receive...
"CANNOT SEND EMAIL"
"The SMTP connection to server "smtp.vodamail.co.za" failed."

It does not seem to logon to my account when using broadband connection.
I have tried deleting and re-installing, as well as deleting the Username and Password and re-installing.

Still no luck.

Any advice please?

Strange. I would have thought that the inverse would be an issue. As vodacom does not allow you to use their SMTP on other networks such as mweb etc.

Maybe confirm what your smtp address is. Sometimes the name is displayed and not the actual address in use. If it is anything other than smtp.vodamail.co.za, change it to said address. Just know that you will then not be able to send emails when on the fixed line.

Do you use Vodacom SIM in the router?
P00HB33R has indicated that Vodacom SMTP server do not allow sending Email from other networks. I don't know, if it does, you must use options "with authentication" and "the same login/password as for incoming mail".
