SMTP settings for RAIN ??

oh my word!

Their site is not reachable! I want to log on to add users, as each email adres wanting to send a mail should be a user, it seems like.

However, https://app.smtp2go.com/login/ is unreachable?

Can someone check for me, as I am not sure if the problem is on my side or theirs. I also tried their support link, with the same result.

The main url is working.

They are back online. Must have been a hick-up somewhere. Still not sure if it is my side?

Is the solution I got from Afrihost not working for you? What is your email's @something part?

My domain is @wol.co.za. I have had problems even on ADSL with the smtp.afrihost.co.za for 3 years and when it failed on Rain is was just a normal failure. I have just checked smtp.afrihost.co.za and for the 1st time it is working with Rain.

I just checked if it would send my telkomsa.net mail and it will not. Thankfully I have smtp2go

It was a learning curve, but well worth it.

I am still upset with Afrihost for not providing a smtp server that work, though.

It's a pleasure and remember, it will work on all networks.

How do you find them regarding speed of delivery? I was a bit concerned this afternoon, but did some tests now again and it is delivering immediately to my own address.

wol.co.za is owned by MWEB, so maybe you can ask them if they have a SMTP server with authentication to use or you could test yourself:

smtp.wol.co.za / mail.wol.co.za (yes, they are different servers.
Test with Port 587 with and without authentication.

Else do what Xman has done and get an smtp2go account.

We use hosted exchange, which means our servers are international as well. I have happy with the speed of smtp2go, but what impressed me the most was the support, no matter the time of the day, even when I cancelled my account, they were very helpful. I actually felt bad cancelling. :p

Yes, I can vouch for that. My mail to them was answered very fast and so the subsequent mails. Impressed!

If none of those work you will need to ask your ISP hosting your email for there smtp server which you need to use with Authentication

I know this is an old thread but for those that have not come right

Hi all see this thread under Afrihost.

I have Outlook (2010 not any more complains about settings, still the same.) and 2016 running.

Will remove Office 2010 later today.

Setting up Outlook 2016.

This was a problem area and was sorted this afternoon, tnx to Afrihost personnel.

Will sort out some issues I encountered. I had smpt issues on both Outlook's.

Mr

LUCAS ]Hi everyone,

I've migrated on 247 Online via IBURST.
Since 01-10-2017 i cannot send or receive emails.
247 Online is unable to help in setting up the incoming or outgoing server.
Which settings must I use for both incoming and outgoing mails?

I hope this points you in the right direction.

I've even used the Gmail SMTP server a couple of times. Not sure if it's still available without auth.

Is there an update on the latest SMTP address if you're on RAIN LTE?

I'm on RAIN via WebAfrica. Tried to contact their support but no luck.

For some reason last time I managed to get hold of WA support I was told smtp.afrihost.co.za should work - which did up till now. smtp.wa.co.za doesn't work either.

*sigh* I went from ADSL to LTE for a more stable internet connection... so much for that. Deadlines guys! Unsent emails = missed deadlines!!!

[UPDATE @ 2018.03.12 - 12:13] All seems working again. Web Africa RAIN LTE smtp = smtp.afrihost.co.za --- something about someone incorrectly updating DNS records on their side...

Need help guys. Recently started having issues with receiving emails. Afrihost hosts my email server but recently have not been able to send mails. On RAIN 5G. Spent 30 min with Afrihost guy and he mentioned something about RAIN possibly being the issues but do not see how that is possible.

Guys, I will offer an SMTP server for anyone who is interested. It will have a very small yearly charge though. You can use this with Telkom webmail, rain and to setup office 365. I also offer support on emails and remote desktop support for any pc related issue. Contact me if interested.

Hello, please provide me with more details and how to get the smtp.

"I would suggest you give this a try: https://www.smtp2go.com/"

Really hope you can assist, I might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I am definitely not the butter knife.

I am trying to setup my parents email, recently moved from Telkom ADSL to Rain 4G. I managed to get their telkomsa.net email as stand alone (what a mission), so that they do not have to change everything everywhere (they are quite old).
Incoming emails are working, but outgoing is ....

As rain does not have a smtp server, I called telkom tech support and they said I need to use "smtp.telkomsa.net" well this is not working.
I then searched the net, and found your posts. I set-up an account with smtp2go, and added their address to the account as smtp user.

I am struggling to set up their Outlook 2013 Plus.
> The Incoming server "pop3.telkomsa.net" & telkom email password, works fine.

> The outgoing server I made "mail.smtp2go.com",
- Outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication checked
- :log on using": Added email address and smtp2go password) as added on smtp2go profile as smtp user.
- Not checked "Require SPA"
- Outgoing server port "25"
- Encryption "none"
* Error I get is: "Send test email message: The server responded: 550 verify the sender dom"

- If I check"Require SPA", then error is "Send test email message: None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server"

Thank You
Neil

Did you add the domain to SMTP2GO? https://support.smtp2go.com/hc/en-g...MTP-username-s-account-is-not-allowed-to-send
