SNO gets into gear

SNO Telecommunications said it would finally bring about “the level of infrastructure-based competition that is required to open up the sector, to reduce the cost of doing business in South Africa

How exactly are they going to reduce the cost of business if their products arent going to be much cheaper? They have already said that there wont be a price war with Telkom..

*shrugs*

Not entering into a price war is different to introducing lower prices.
A company can introduce lower prices than their competition, and then leave the pricing alone, regardless of what the competition does. It only becomes a price war if both sides continue undercutting.

This is getting into gear?? :o

They've been licensed for how long and all they've done so far is appoint a MD and announce they're "getting ready to announce detailed roll-out plans to the market".

From the front page of their site:

"..in order to ensure that the SNO customers experience nothing but the very best, we intend to roll-out our retail services in stages, starting with basic voice telephony and internet access in the major cities of South Africa. Launching in 4th Quarter 2006"

That is very promising indeed!

4th Quarter 2006?! That is much earlier than I thought. I still have my doubts whether this is achievable
