Telkom still has exclusive undersea cable rights so this statement probably only means unlimited local bandwidth. It also said customers would “no longer be limited in the bandwidth they can access.”

ROFL - they're already colluding on their public announcements !!! We're in deep k@k@.lewstherin said:Telkom has said pretty much the same gumph in previous press statements.
According to Papi, Telkom is also "focusing on customer service and affordability". According to Papi the services are already "affordable". I'm pretty sure Papi also mentioned something vague about a "next-generation" network. I'd love to know which generation the network is the next of. I suspect Telkom's "next-gen" network is in fact referring to the generation following the manual exchange network - ie. automatic exchanges and leased diginet.
As with Telkom, the proof of the SNO's statements will be in the reality of what actually happens pricing and service-wise. Until I can actually compare products, anything the SNO's reps say is merely to keep the media buzz going.
So far Telkom's promises have been more for the purposes of dis-information and damage control than anything else. Time will tell if the SNO takes the same road.
