Trying to activate an old account through a new laptop, and the bloody thing keeps asking for a Steam guard code that is supposed to arrive via email, and no matter how many time i hit resend no emails arrive.
Tried creating a new account same issue, no verification email arrives.
Been almost 2 hours and nothing.

Steam codes are usually pretty quick in my experience, maybe check your junk mail folder? (sorry if that is obvious)

Yea it's instant - I get them quite often because I switch VPN. If you didn't get the email something else is up.

Tried that, logged onto the Mweb customer portal, and checked there, nothing what so ever in either junk or spam.

My 1st Steam account is lost due to this. Couldn't recover, nada. Valve didn't care. It was a long time ago though.

What happened in my case was that I had an account, which went redundant as I didn't play PC games at that time, but then Steam Guard came along and when I wanted to use my account it requested the code which I never ever had. Valve's only suggestion at the time was to open a new account, sorry. Happily, it wasn't worth much.

i have emailed steam and they reset my account. I think I changed my email address if I remeber correctly. But this was years ago..

Tried opening a new account as well, no luck on the code.
Added steam support emails per their instruction on support webpage to trusted recipients, still nothing.

When you have a Steam Guard enabled, well I only use Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, but to recover that account you need to provide them with evidence, usually a 'recent' purchase (invoice).

In my experience it's always been a few minutes, if not received in about 2 min I'd resend and get it almost immediately

Downloaded the app off the play store, but get the same login page, and same message saying "code sent to email" etc.

I battled my ass off to recover my account a while back, can't remember what I did but think I ended up emailing steam support.

One email from the US last month took 7 hours to come though, wasnt steam though.

Looks like going to have go that route, not having luck with anything else.

Thanks guys, can always count on quick support and suggestions from the forum.

(If worse comes to worse, still got the Xbox, biggest reason i got it in the first place was because of steam anyway)

I think i showed my hl2 copy lol. But this was many years ago.

I know this topic is a bit old, but I agree that Steam email codes stink. By the time I get the email and click on the link, I get a session expired notice. I tried emailing them and also get a response to put in the emailed code before I hit send.... the code never arrives...
