So I upgraded my BB 9300 to a Z10 via contract upgrade. (MTN)

A few questions...

Since the sims are different SIM/Micro Sim I cant transfer stuff such as email accounts and actual emails..

The Sim on the 9300 is deactivated and the Z10 is active (so the phone works)

Now how would i setup and transfer all the emails to the new phone.

Email goes as follows: (this is for POP)

Fields with * i need info on

Username*
Email address
Password
Server address*
Port*
SMTP Username*
SMTP Port*

Please this is quite urgent so any help will be appreciated.

Your email settings you would need to get from the provider of your email address.

As for your emails transferring across, can you not use the blackberry pc software to do that? I don't think you need the sim.

is that an exchange address ? ?
I have been having issues connecting my exchange account on the Z10....

Oh sorry was talking about your email address, is it connecting to an exchange server?
Does debeersgroup make use of Microsoft Exchange for their corporate email

Not sure,

It says that BB link wont transfer Email Accounts, they have to be setup manually. Ill ask the IT guys tomorrow for the settings.

Edit: Also I dont see a 2G only option on the networks menu like the 9300 :(

Ok I will, What version are you running, ive got 10.0.10.82

Upgrade to. 99
Also you can do a device switch with just your memory card. Look under setup for device switch.

Or you can use blackberry protect...

Contact your IT administrator he/she can give you the settings required. I also had the same problem with my iPad. Also check your internal website maybe there is a help page.

Can you not backup and transfer via Blackberry Protect anymore?

Nope. The new Z10 doesnt allow backup/restore using BlackBerry protect. I learnt the hard way. You have to use blackberry link.

I used the device switch feature for one of our staff members phones, worked well, even the email accounts were transferred

Does "device switch" also transfer your apps and photos?

using device switch should transfer photos, i doubt it will transfer apps, you would have to manually install any apps.
