I have a decent laptop for work, my gaming beast @ home. But I need a device to surf whilst relaxing in the loung ;) My SE P990i is just too small for surfing. I'm looking at the Asus Eee 700 for now. Heard about the Acer and MSI netbooks but they're too pricey just for surfing. I can't decide which one...

ngr computers was selling the eeepc 2g for 2000 when i last checked. hth

Wow. I think I could have written the fost post :P

Exactly what I needed and got

EEE 700-W R1799 at Zones.

I think they also have a special on the Acer Aspire One or what ever it is called... The one with a 9" screen... <R3000 IIRC.

I think IC also has the AAO Linux version (8G SSD) for R2999.

I am very happy with my S10. Their price is more reasonable when compared to other Netbooks with same specs.

Anyone know any good specials on an Acer Aspire One running XP?

So I got the Asus Eee 2GB surf. This is best thing since sliced bread! ;) Using it atm. Loaded XP on it, had to run nlite and shaved the install to ~300mb!!! Running a 4GB SD as well, so new installs go there. I've actually decided to use this on business trips as well, for vpn access via 3G.

Thinking of running 7 on it... anyone tried this? Will there be enough space for the install? I've shaved the 7 install files to ~1.2GB, but have no idea what space is required for the installation ....

To anyone who has doubts... go buy it dudes, this is the life!!!
