Went for an eye test and I need to get Specs for distance.

I was asked to select a frame and chose an Adidas frame which is nice :)
This morning I got a call that my Specs is R 5000

I'm guessing the frame is what makes up 80% of that does anyone know if there is any warranty or something on the Adidas frames? I'm just glad my Medical Aid covers 100% or else I would have taken a R 100 frame ....

I doubt your Adidas frames are over R1500!! Its the lens thats expensive. I think your optometrist is ripping you off....

Prob. but it's single lenses with a +1.00 and +0.25 script so it's not as if I'm blind or anything :D

R5000!

. . . oh wait - you dont have your spectacles yet . .

R5000!

Pit BF has nike frame: R3500.

It's the frame. Just beware if you are on discovery and your your savings account is depleted your wife might not be covered for her's fully.

Happend to us we had to pay in more than R4000

Ouch !!!

I have about R 12k cash in the savings and the savings fund is at about R 18k future dated till December. That should be ok I guess. The optometrist said medical aid pays 80% the rest comes from my savings.

If I have to pay in anything I'll just give the specs back :D

edit: I'm on CAMAF medical scheme

I have an Armani and D&G frame... both were less than R2000 each...

Edit: Whats your Adidas frames made of?

Nike has that flexon thing going. I know that is why the frame was so expensive.

wow ok... i had nice rimless frames (they were covered by the medical aid) till they got smashed into my face, (R700) then i fell asleep with them on my chest and cost another R700 which by that time my mom said she is NOT getting lenses for those frames. So my mom paid in R700 for the frame and lenses, haven't broken these lenses yet although i have managed to get the glasses knocked into my face as well as had my glasses tramped on...

But yeah i don't see a need for a designer label... only to make the designers richer...
