As the title says, I've been having a look at the Antec P182 case. It seems to fit my requirements for my new case to replace my current cheapie handle case (cool, quite and with enough space). Hopefully I'll be able to afford a it soon :o

Your thoughts?
 
It's a very nice casing, but mostly for display/showcasing. Keeping it clean is a b!tch. If you don't have peeps that must "touch" it to appreciate it beauty, it'll work for you. Personally, I didn't find it very practical because I love to scratch in my box. Maybe it's different for you.
 
Personally, if you want a sexy case yes but i think its a waste of money, with summer coming up i would rather get a new 40cm aerocool case, half the price, cooling way better. aerocool does not look so sexy though, but then again who is going to see your pc.
 
I'm not looking at getting the Special Edition (the one with the mirror finish) so I doubt whether someone touching the case would have any impact on its looks? :confused:
 
Well one thing that it will give you is a nice quiet PC, depending on your howling GFX :D I don't love them personally, but they are quite nice nevertheless.
 
The P182 is an excellent case. If you buy the black one, there's no hassles regarding scratches or marks. Just be warned, it's not as spacious as it looks. It will fit alot of devices, but it does get cramped. It's very quiet and I have never regretted buying it.

Not at all. My SOLO which is a smaller cheaper version is made of solid steel. And you can tell it's good because if you tap it you just get a dull thud.

Those huge fans are all very well, but the P182 will still be much quieter and probably allow more cooling anyway. (You can add more fans and because of it's superior construction, the noise increase is minimal.)

That P182 is a great case. There are a few at work. I've been tempted to take one on more than one occasion. :D

The e6850 cores are currently idling at around 31C, and have peaked at around 55C, the 'CPU' measure in Speedfan is currently measuring 25C with a max of 44C. (all temps taken from Speedfan)

I'd estimate the room temperature at 15C. Oh and everything is running at stock speeds.

Yeah, I'm sure it's made well - the front panel just seemed plasticey? What's it made of? Will have a closer look next time. :p
 
What about the Cosmos S? That seems rather big inside and has lots of cooling. I've seen/heard one in action and it doesn't noisy.
 
That also looks nice. I prefer the subdued looks of the Antecs though.

EDIT: Ans that Cosmos is huge! It must have space for about 15 drives...
