Passed her BAA course that she did via AmbuTek in Cape Town with flying colours!

She will now start doing shifts on ambulances and such.

I'm so proud of her!

Hope none of you have to meet her like that, but if you do, you'll be in good hands :)
 
I dont want to be the ass here, but in the past 4 months one of my friends have been in 2 accidents, and both times the people on the ambulance treated him like sh&^ (though I must add, we live in Pretoria).
But it do sound like your gf is the exception. Well done to her and her accomplishments :)

These are the people we always take for granted. Kudos to her!
 
congrats...saw a report about paramedics going out with police escorts on etv last night. apparently 2 females went out over the weekend to respond to a call for a minor and one of them got raped... this country is going to the dogs i tell you...

just find out where she will be serving..
 
It is so sweet that you "brag" about your gf's achievement. Kudos to you! And congrats to your GF!

Were they drunk or on drugs? I know medical people get very snotty and nasty when treating a drunk or druggie :D.
 
HAHAH, nice tell her I say well done.....but the real question i want to ask is......howcome you didnt pass?.....didnt you two do it together? :P

She did the full time course - I'm doing the same course, but part-time and it starts in May. :)

From what I understand, you are not supposed to judge anyone, you arrive at the scene, you treat the patient (being as nice as possible) and then take them to hospital - afterwards, they can be as snotty and rude as they want.

Having said that, I've seen paramedics get very irratated with people who are drunk and such - they give what they get hey!
If you fight then from treating you, they will have to restrain you.

tell her to be careful when working and with which ambulance drivers she goes with(if not driving), they can be very bad.. i've seen a few flip here by our house cause they speeding <-- which injures themselves.

No, YOU don't care... at 12 years old - I wouldn't expect you to - of cause you will care when you get into a accident and a paramedic is standing over you trying to help you while you probably cry like a baby begging not to die.

She won't be driving for a while... BAA's don't get to drive straight outta the gate.

I was in a bike accident last year and got exceptional service from the paramedics. at least the part I can remember lying in the back of the ambulance :p
