The Takealot website is incredibly crap so I refuse to use them. Are there any other online shops that offer comparable service and range?

I know of Kalahari which I sometimes use, which Take2 felt they needed to copy, but surely there must be more?

I made extensive use of the Amazon import service so something similar would be a good bonus.

I have recently used both Takealot and Kalahari and the experience is very similiar.

Other sites like Zaps, Sybaritic and BT is a bit difficult for me to use/find stuff I need.

Imported Bioshock 2 with Takealot and order arrived way early (much cheaper than any other option available).

A bit wary to use BidorBuy...

Delivery on both sites used are quite good and was kept informed all the way during the order.

I noticed they started using Mr. Delivery for deliveries recently. Apparently they also now have a warehouse in Jhb which explained them delivering an item on the same day I ordered it.

My current order is via their "express delivery service", wonder if that means Mr. Delivery (status on order says: Expect a call to arrange delivery).
Kalahari's next day delivery worked quite well when I used it.

Ultimitely, it is about price (is that not one of the main reasons these sites are so popular, besides the bigger choice all in one place?).

Amazon.com is also very confusing for me to navigate...

I normally use loot, takealot or amazon.co.uk. I dont know, I've just ordered from takealot and the process was smooth and intuative. As far as I'm concerned they're a peasure to deal with.

I thought takealot is similar, except the design and name...a friend of mine ordered from them and got good service, I wouldn't mind ordering from them.

It's not crap, you just got too used to their old site.

Confirmed, Takealot "express delivery" is done by Mr. Delivery (quite a clever idea IMO!).
They phone beforehand to make sure if delivery time is convenient for you (and you can give additional delivery instructions).

I actually wrote an email where I described multiple ways in which their new website is worse, they replied, to which I sent back even a more detailed email describing how much worse their new site is. They haven't replied to that one yet.

I'm not an old fart. The new site is designed for kids by kids. The Take2 site was much easier to navigate and find what I wanted.

Now I can't even check what's in my shopping cart without an extra click. Really? They made the site a lot less user friendly.

I love takealot! Will always prefer them over the crap service from Kalahari.

Ditto on Kalahari. I've tried ordering from them around 5 times, if memory serves, and I'm yet to successfully complete a transaction. Each and every time they cancelled the order for whatever reason, sometimes only after weeks of waiting, without even notifying me. I don't try and use them anymore.

Good to know. Can't stand them, so I'll avoid using that delivery option.

It is not an option the consumer can choose.
My delivery was "ready to ship" latish the previous day (maybe past their CourierIT delivery cut-off).

Mr. Delivery worked fine, delivered on time agreed upon on the phone (they called before to arrange a convenient time).

I will use Takealot, but I'll rather just fetch my stuff.

The BF3 disaster happened, but we all make mistakes, if they catch on kak again, I'm finished with them!

I only use direct buying from overseas sites and I never had a problem - delivered to my doorstep within a max of 10 days from anywhere in the world. Do a bit of research about a site before you order though.

I still use Amazon (UK) all the time - absolutely fantastic with their current free shipping offer - especially for books (where shipping used to be more than the actual books).
