Well, ever since the upgrade era, my ping during the daytime is still at 300 on local servers.
Was upgraded to 4mb/s.
Internet slow during the day, fast at 1am.
What can I do to fix this, please help guys

I feel your pain

I had a perfect 10meg line for a year, and Telkom called me up, stating that I can move to VDSL, I bought the Telkom VDSL router, guess what, I went from supposed 40meg, to barely able to have stable 4meg currently.

Now they blame it on congestion, before the "free" upgrades, I had no issues.

1 step forward, 9 steps backward.

Who is your ISP? I note the same **** with mweb, really need to get my act together and move to a new ISP...

Sounds like a congested exchange or a crap ISP.

I guess its Telkoms adsl being a ****. I just hope that I am not the only one suffering from this.

Exchange congested perhaps? Paste a tracert here

i know you do that through the CMD, but I dont understand how that works, care to help?

Type this at cmd prompt:
Tracert capetown.spdtst.saix.net or
Tracert rosebank.spdtst.saix.net or
Tracert (any website adress or ip addresses)

The 1st one is if you route through Cape Town and 2nd through Johannesburg. Basically if you are a TI customer.

Its very erratic, it will be fine for a bit, then suddenly skyrocket

I've also noticed it seems like I'm being limited somehow my download sites don't work so well, gaming(bad ping) and torrents. But If I browse everything is fine.

I found If I turn the router off for a couple of hours and then on it gets better for a bit but then starts limiting me all over again. I saw other posts about this in the week, something is definitely up, they're throttling us or something. The probably installed new software or systems to slow us down. Been a really bad week for me. :...(

Phone them to do a port reset.
It may just be exchange congestion.
I had a terrible 2 hours last night.
Called the call center for a 2nd time at around 8:30 and the lady reset the port.
It seemed to come right after that.

Yeah, I called them, been waiting for an hour
EDIT: finally got them to do a port reset, didnt do anything, regarding exchange congestion, is there anything i can do? I men this has been going on for a while now...
