Courier just dropped off my Iphone 4S.

To say that I have been eagerly awaiting my 1st Iphone, would be a not-so-insignificant understatement.

Only problem - it's a white one. I ordered a black one.
I have a black Ipad, and I like it.
Glad I never took the white one.
I wanted a black Iphone too.

Now, after many months of yearning - I have a white one in my hands...

So - do I stop crying like a little girl, and remind myself that I will in all likelihood put a decent case around it, since I'm clumsy and will be dropping it - which will mean I won't notice the colour in any event, - or do I arrange to have it swapped, since it would suck if I spend the next 2 years wishing I had stuck it out for a black one...

Somebody slap some sense into me...

Off to buy the mini-sim now, and arrange everything else... will have a looksie upon my return...

... and I'll just throw the obligatory "you could've gotten an Android" in as well.

But seriously, if I were an iFan and I were in your position, I'd probably keep the white one. As you say, a cover is going to pretty much mask it anyway & knowing the supply constraints with the 4S who knows how long you'll wait for an exchange.

There's so little of the body colour apparent in this age of OMG-check-the-screen phones, who cares about the little white you'll see below the screen?

From your link:

"A white bezel will you give the impression that the screen is dimmer, and has less contrast. The content won’t stand out as much. There is a reason why TVs come generally in Black, and letterbox content with black frames. White will make your movies and games look worse. Then, a white Frame will also reflect more light when you’re outside, it will be more visibly dirty and worse of all, white Apple products have a long history of problems, from cracking, delays to light leaks and so on."

If that holds true, rather hold out for a swap. I don't care enough about iAnything to have known that's an issue - the last bit about cracking and whatnot.

Skinjam looks appealing...
R600 is pricey - and it blows that you can only have the design installed at a kiosk up North - but am tempted to give the budding artist inside me something to play around with...

Send it back for the black one. I have a white HTC Desire and the scuff marks that you get on the back of it are enough for me to never get another white phone.

Exactly. White is for girls...or if you're gay.

:p
Yowzers. :wtf:

Moving along. Had a think about the several occasions in the holidays, when several of the friends/family had a regular phone-swap session after getting up from the table, since all 6 of them had identical black Iphones, and they could only tell them apart after swiping...

White it is.

Check out http://www.gelaskins.com as well, they have some truly amazing designs but you'd have to wait to get it (from the states) an then put the skin on yourself....

All this black vs white ****! Sodding racists.

Had me totally confused. :o

:)

PS - think you're right in that I will get over the bit of white...
