So which ISP is the really the best?

In general, mweb will give you the best experience during the day and night. If you live in Joburg, Axxess is amazing at night, and Openweb Gold is plain amazing the whole time (expect to pay a bit more though)

My dad and I average 8 gigs a day, never had an issue with OW.

That and OW doesnt get into a hiffy fit when you SSL. *cough mweb cough*

Ask MrBeep nicely for a 10meg gold trial for a day. OW has by far the best customer service (replied to my emails in 4 minutes at 3AM once)

Indeed. Piesang encountered a technical issue, didn't bother calling up Mweb so they can look into it and then sort it out, now he wants to say they're a crappy ISP.

If anyone failed, it's Piesang.

Ok. So lets see how this day went.

Monday 11:25

I sent MWEB Guy a PM to remind him about the Trial Account

Monday 12:56

MWEB Guy reply with a PM telling me that he needs my detail.

Monday 12:59

I reply with my detail

Monday 16:07

I sent him a PM again to say I haven't received any info yet

Monday 16:34

I receive a PM telling me that someone will contact me

Monday 16:55

I speak to a sales person who setup my account. I have a 10mb line and they can only give me a 4mb trial account.

I setup my modem and get connected immediately. I get disconnected almost instantly. I wait 5 minutes and setup the modem again. Immediate connection. Open one website and get disconnected. Wait again for a few minutes. Repeat everything again.

Same problem.

Mweb FAIL!!!!

I'm back to my Afrihost Capped Account.

Good Morning Piesang, sorry that everything went pear shaped yesterday :D

As explained to you telephonically, there was a delay with the provisioning of new accounts yesterday. This has since been rectified and you should be able to test our wonderful product today ;)

You should receive another call later today to confirm whether the product is working as it should.

Your little rant about a trial account does nothing to the quality of the product.

MWEB.

I can only test the quality of the product if it works.

A simple signup process like this shouldn't take 24 hours.

Hi MWEB Guy.

Thanks for the call this morning. I'm up and running now. Will test the account today and tomorrow and then as discussed with Anwa will decide on Monday morning if it's really worth paying the extra bucks.

Because everyone can always foresee technical issues arising...

Anyway, if I were an ISP, I'd hate to have you as a customer. One small hiccup and you're the worst ISP in the world.

Thanks for the feedback ;)

Glad your up and running :D

So far I'm getting 2.6Mbps on a 4Mbps trial account. Will check it out later to see if the speed improve.

I must say, I really miss my 10Mbps uncapped account running at 8.5Mbps - 9.5Mbps.
