After some further research, I found that if I buy a HD4890 and put it in my system, it most likely result in a spectacular explosion from the PSU. Anyway, long story short, I'm now in the market for a PSU but I want one that'll be future proof for at least a while, and also XFire capable. Thus far I have settled on a Corsair 750W TX as it has a plethora of connectors and spare wattage available. Anyone here using one? How is the Corsair brand PSU's?

I'm using the Corsair HX1000W and it's brilliant. I'm even using their bottom of the range 400W in my LAN rig and it's performing flawlessly. Highly recommended.

Corsair PSUs are brilliant, but I would recommend the HX750w as it's modular. If you're not phased about cables lying all over the place then the TX will be perfectly adequate :)

Corsair PSUs will kill you with their aura of pure awesomeness

+10. I have the HX620 in my pc, thing is darn quiet and supplies plenty of juice. Damn good power supply, it spoiled me so much that I cringe to use anything else these days.

Coolstuff.. this thread has soothed my worries and uncertianty and I'm looking forward to getting the awesomness that is Corsair PSU's!

While we talking about corsair PSU's did your guys PSU come with a strange power connection? 2 pins on a strange socket.

The only two pins I've seen is the 6 to 8 pin PCI-E connector that they seem to come with. But it should be connected to the 6 pin. Like the 20/24 pin mobo connector.
