Hey guys, I have a client whose motherboard got zorched out by lightning. Can I still buy socket 478 motherboards? His chip is a Pentium 4 - 3.2 Ghz.

You won't be able to buy one brand new any more, but getting hold of one 2nd-hand shouldn't be too difficult. Just post something under the wanted section on www.carbonite.co.za

As stated, you could probably get a second hand one, but I would watch out for dodgy caps on the board. Motherboards made during the P4 lifetime sometimes had issues with those dodgy caps. Anyway, the client is better off getting a new pc. A P4 is not going to cut the mustard anymore.
