Soft Contact Lens tips

Some tips, I have been using soft contacts for 15 years.

- Never use your monthly lenses longer than 4 weeks (This increases tearing and comfort level).
- Replace your lense container monthly
- Always use clean solution daily
- Clean your lenses in your hand with clean solution every 2 days
- Never go to sleep with them on
- I find Bio True the best solution with most comfort
- I go through 1 of the small Bio True solutions and case every month, costs like R15.

Most people use soft contacts longer than a month, first mistake.
Some solutions do affect people differently, find one that is most comfortable for you.

Most problems come from not cleaning lenses, wearing longer than 4 weeks.

I developed corneal ulcers from wearing lenses longer than instructed.
Now, 2 minutes to put them in and 2 to take them out is really not too much trouble.

I'm definitely going to try that saline solution tip from the OP.

Also those no rub solutions are a lie, always clean your contact lenses.

I see Bausch and lomb have their own version of eye drops for dry eyes - bought it from clicks for about R50 - its less then 1/2 the price of Optive - hope it works as well.

If I remember, you can't use that with the contact lenses on?

These are meant for use with contacts on found an online copy of the leaflet inside
BAUSCH & LOMB LENS LUBRICANT (Solution)

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
BAUSCH & LOMB Lens Lubricant re-wets and lubricates hard and soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses while the lenses are being worn. Whilst rewetting the lenses the solution may help to remove particulate matter.

INDICATIONS:
Use BAUSCH & LOMB Lens Lubricant to soothe dry, irritated eyes and to relieve minor discomfort and/or blurring which may occur while you wear your lenses.
