Not so much. The "computerisation" of TVs is an important next step in the development of home technology. 3D is pretty much a business fail. I suspect people who can afford to buy them, but don't use the nerdy glasses much.

My opinion is that manufacturers are leading us by the nose. There is absolutely no reason why all televisions should not have more open operating system that allows the user to load apps and attach other hardware. If the manufacturers don't wake up, Google will take over the market for them. I have a three year old, pre-smart Samsung. I can either upgrade to a new one at R6k+ to use it to access the web, or I can buy a Chromecast at R600.
