I'm sure that I am not the only one who would like to know about software that doesn't work on Windows 7, and maybe ways to fix that. PLEASE NOTE: This is not for games, start your own thread about that.

Microsoft Livecam for the Lifecam xv6000 doesn't work on 64 bit
Intellitype Pro for Microsoft Keyboards doesn't work on 64 bit

Apparently the IntelliPoint software for my mouse isn't compatible either but anyway it's a mouse, point and clicking is all I need.

haha... sometimes you just gotta laugh... the only SW that doesnt work in 7 seems to be MS stuff... ;)

All 64 apps?

All 64 apps?

you have 2 program files directories, one for 32 and one for 64. you can run 32-bit apps on a 64-bit OS no problem.

As for my list,
I just wanna point out that for 3G Modems the VMC software don't work - just install Mobile Partner and you are on your way :o

I know that but isn't this topic a bit pointless. Why don't we have a topic of every type of wooden braai stand that does (or not) work fully with fire? See where I'm getting at?

No, nearly all of them are 32 bit apps.

I must amend the affirmation for Web Stream Recorder Pro. It does install fine, but does not work properly on reboot. It loses its memory... must be a registry thing.

I can add Star Wars Battlefront II to the list though. Works fine with settings for Windows XP.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit (for 4 GB of RAM) and seems like most of the 32 bit apps run just fine.

Can you post a more detailed installation how-to (with links and stuff) some time? I would like to get that working as well.

Not all previously released 32 bit apps are going to work with Windows 7.

This is further complicated by now also having a 64 bit version of Windows 7 that is going to be very popular.

so you have older 32 bit apps (which might have worked with Vista and Win xp) but that won't work with Win 7.

Then you are also going to have 64 bit apps which might worked with WinXP64bit or Vista64bit... but which won't work with Win7 x64.

It is a given that any older 64 bit apps won't work with Win7 32 bit.

VLC works but the quality is worse than using Windowns Media Player... I dont know in XP this didnt happen... Seems like VLC needs some new codecs or something...

vlc is fail, use KMplayer instead (just disable the medialibrary plugin cos it causes some startup delays in 7)

winamp works fine u must b doin something wrong xenophon

daemon tools is dodge when it comes to 7, but UltraISO works great.

1) insert modem
2) install Mobile Partner
3) Run Mobile Partner
----
4) Enter APN as "internet" and dial number to *99# into the settings
5) Choose "manual Search" or whatever at the provider listbox, and click refresh - it should detect MTN, Vodacom, CellC etc.... choose one.
6) connect!
