Software for (and not for) Windows 7

1) insert modem
2) install Mobile Partner
3) Run Mobile Partner
----
4) Enter APN as "internet" and dial number to *99# into the settings
5) Choose "manual Search" or whatever at the provider listbox, and click refresh - it should detect MTN, Vodacom, CellC etc.... choose one.
6) connect!

Thanks man!

64bit Build 7100

Steam
Counter Strike Source
Firefox
Skype 4.1 Beta
7Zip
Avira AntiVir Personal
VLC
NVidia

All version are the latest stable releases as of 10hrs ago except Skype which is Beta.

64bit application support for Vista/7 is really lacking compared to Linux where everything is 64bit on my Arch install from including flash, java etc

one main problem with all win7 versions is that bluetooth dongles and win7 drivers has the devil in them. Please try a blusoliel device without the cd....it sucks.THere is just to many yellow triangles.

I need a *free* alternative to Daemon Tools, I already have the images so I don't need to create it. It was created with Alcohol quite a while ago. A friend of mine got Alcohol to work...will find out how and get back.

I can't get Look@Lan to work on Win7, to see all the computers on our network (so I can see if one goes offline... or when user says cannot connect)
Well.... the program works... as in it starts... but it ONLY shows my own computer, and none of the others in the ip range.
It used to work in XP, and even on Vista.
... Of course, perhaps I am just making my ignorance public here... :)
maybe its a setting in Win7 that would allow Look@Lan to see the other compies on the network? I checked all the available options in Look@Lan itself.

Currently using "Free IP Scanner" that works just fine, to show me all the computers and network devices on our network.

In addition to Garyvdh and Avatar_5's lists,

For me the following was working:
Photoshop CS3
Lightroom 2
Firefox 3+
Google Chrome
Winamp
VLC
Altap Salamander
Nero 7
RocketDock
uTorrent
Pidgin 2.4.3

Things that didn't work / gave problems:
Foobar2000 (would work fine but crash randomly when moving to the next song in the playlist)
Daemon Tools (Would install but that's about it)
Alcohol 120%
Nero 6 (Wouldn't even install)

Onboard lan on my MSI K8N Platinum mobo wouldn't work, no matter what i tried. PCI network card worked first time tho.

I originally also had major sound issues, with stuttering and noise, but fixed that with a new download of the Realtek AC'97 HD drivers.

My wireless is not working but I suppose I have to look for RT2501 drivers.

My Plantronics DSP-300 USB headset has bad sound after a whiles use and then eventually I have no sound

i agree. my gigabyte bluetooth adapter works fine but i have a yellow triangle next to it in device manager

You guys do know the latest version of Daemon Tools Lite and WinAmp works on 7.

Yeah, I know the new Daemon works ... :p
Still having issues with foobar, guess I should check the forums over there and the offical win7 ones again. :(

Does it only do that with the headset? You sure it's not a sound issue in general?

Weird. Mine works 100%. There is even a Win7 plugin for foobar that makes use of the jump lists in the new taskbar, as well as giving it a customized aero peek window where you can perform some basic functions. Very cool.

EDIT: Running RC1, 64bit, Foobar 0.9.6.5 (32-bit)

I've been testing on the Beta's still. RC1 is only being installed this weekend. Just haven't had any other time to install it yet. Thanks for the heads up ... I need foobar back, winamp is driving me insane :p

Foobar is the only reason I don't run Ubuntu 24/7 :p

I've seen a torrent of alcohol 120% with the title "Alcohol 120% 1.9.8.7612 - Works with Windows 7" on bitfarm. Perhaps the new version?
