:o Not sure how to hrase this but Ok ; I'm looking for ideas. What app, widget or webpart etc. Have you always wished had been made.. Looking to improve my C# skills so looking for some projects to keep me busy after hours. Windows Phone 7 apps, Windows apps, SharePoint Webparts and Meego and Symbian apps.

Note: All idea's and any projects undertaken will be Open-Source and the code will be put up on GitHub so this could possibly be a MyBB community project :).

Understand alot of people will think I'm looking to make money off their idea's..That's not what I'm trying to do here. :).

How about a MyBB reader. I hate having to refresh the web page on my PC or Tapatalk on my phone. This app should poll the site every 10 seconds and scroll in new posts.

What phone do you use? Will look into this ;).
Come on guys, lets get the idea's rolling :)

Start with a Windows app, that should be so much easier.

I have an iPhone. I've done Android development and that's pretty easy but I suspect it will be a pain for iOS.

Have a iPhone dev here at the office so will ask him about the process. :) Gonna check that nothing already exists WinApp wise that can do that and then we are go to go :D

I also want a MyBB reader type thing... sorta like News24's app but made for MyBB.

Tabs for news section, games section but a main concentration of the app must be for the forums.

You do know that's what the RSS button is for :) N9 + rss + notifications screen = easy updates.

Would also go for a (decent) myBB app, for Android in my case.

Would even pay for it :D But not as much as Tapatalk

Here's a project that I would love to see, although it could be either a website or an app.

Create something that allows you to anonymously review an employer. Think about it - no such service exists. If I want to know what it is like to work for Microsoft in Johannesburg, the only way I can know is to ask people who work there or have worked there. Otherwise it is impossible. I will be taking a job based only on my own perceptions. So, it would be useful if there were anonymous reviews available on what it is like to work for a certain company.

That'll open a can of worms because most employees are *******s so they'd more than likely only negatively review the company and cause more damage in reputation than it would if no such "service" existed.

The same could be argued of HelloPeter :\
While littered with complaints, a couple compliments to come through.

Disgruntled employees are more than likely to be more vicious than people just looking to get the service/product they paid for and not receiving it. I don't pay to work, I get paid to work. I wave my right to bitch and moan about my employer unless they're in direct contravention of labor laws. However, I can see the "This is a ****ty place to work for and Mr. Smith is an *******" type posts already.

It serves no point, whereas HelloPeter gives you a platform to complain when all else has failed so people can address the issue instead of just mindlessly complaining/crapping on people

Most employees are *censored*?

No, I dont think they are. Of the people I have worked with in my career, in 95% of cases, I would trust their judgment on whether it is good to work for a certain company.

Well, yes most reviews would be negative, just as it is with HelloPeter. But a quick look at the site would then tell you if it was worth accepting a job at a certain employer or not.

Like Hellopeter, the easiest way for employers to not have to worry about the system, is to make their company a good place to work. At the moment, I dont think there selective pressure on companies to provide good places to work. They pay the money and think that is enough.
