Hi All

I need help to find backup software that can backup pst files of outlook 2003 while outlook is open and running.
The software must also have the ability to backup the changes of the pst files and not re-backup the whole pst file.

Does anyone know of free or open source software that can do this?

The users have around on average 4gb-6gb worth of local psts. I cant use software that backups the psts when outlook is closed it will just take to long. The user must be able to work while the software backups and backups any changes.

Thank you in advance.

What operating system are you using?

Hi JayM
All the users are using windows xp sp3.

Oh yes in Mailstore Home, to get it to index/backup your PST files make sure the PST files are open/listed in Outlook, then index and once it's indexed them you can close or delete the PST files from Outlook.

You can try Handy Backup, easy-to-use Outlook backup software. Can automatically back up Outlook and Outlook Express with all accounts, files, email messages, contacts, address, calendars, etc.

Thank you for the recommendation, unfortunately the free version is for home users.

Im looking for a free backup/archive solution for the company we have around 250 users and need a solution to backup pst’s while outlook is open.

Any other recommendations I can look at?

A commercial solution that works well is CIBECS - (http://www.cibecs.com/)

If you're backing up that many users then surely the company you work for has an IT budget - the free solutions I know of are all limited in one or another i.e. they are find as home backup solutions but not for the amount of users you're looking at.

If the information in the pst's is important enought to want to have a backup, it's important enough to pay for.
