Software to Edit Videos

Hi Guys,

I have a Video Presentation of a new software that is to be implemented that needs to be presented to the dudes at the corner office. The problem is that it was captured on a live system and there is some delays within the video, e.g. the time it takes for the form to load after clicking on a command.

I now need to remove all the pause areas from the video and have no Idea on how to do this. A quick open source or free software will be enough.

I cant go to the vendor as they are charging us over R1500.00 per hour for consultation.

Any advice

What type of file format is it in now? .VOB, .AVI, .Mpeg etc

PS:You might be better off asking this Q in "multimedia and photography" section.

Sony Vegas is pretty good but I think it costs $$$.
