Software update probelms

Could someone please help me with a software update on my Samsung phone?
I have a Cell C contract, had problems with Whatsapp, could not update, forgot my password, and Whatsapp stopped.

I have been to the Cell C outlet in Bethlehem, but they could not help me. I live on a remote farm, my phone is the only way to communicate
