Solar Assistant - Paid Updates

All I want is to be able to link an SMB share and/or cloud storage account to allow me to automate daily backups. I often go weeks forgetting to backup because it's a pain to do.
Have you pinged them this feature request? If so then i can also add my 2c and hopefully we build some traction for it

No, there isn't really a central place for stuff like this like a forum or anything is there?

Could email, but that feels a bit ineffective.

You can opt out to continue using your original license terms: one device, non-transferable, with free lifetime updates.
Where does one do that? I can't seem to find the option ?

This automation also doesn't work. Does anybody know why ? Previously it was set only for a 1 minute each time, but it never fired. I changed it to what is below, but that also hasn't worked. Appears to be no trace that the automation even tried to run (unsure if it can even be seen).

Don’t use Solar Assistant but since it runs on a Pi is there no way to do it the other way around and SSH into it?

Then you could just have it rsync via a cron job.

It's definitely possible but not trivial, when you backup in SA it runs a job that creates a new zip file with the latest database backups that is compatible with the restore process and I'm not familiar with the tools being used.

If somebody goes through the effort to document how to do it then I'd definitely go that route.

I guess this is our unofficial solar assistant thread , so I will post here.

Was searching for some information on forecast solar wrt to auto dampening and this link came up. It's looks kinda new , but could be interesting for some people who don't want to deal with MQTT.

I ain't breaking anything in my system. MQTT stays!

I'll give it a try

can you have both this and the MQTT working? i should think so
The MQTT works fine for me. The data is used in a few dashboards and automations. In my case, I probably get no benefit from switching.
