Hi,
I read up that the DOE was meant to take over the solar geyser rebate system at the end of March.
Has this happened and if so, did the rebate increase or decrease?
I'm looking to get a solar geyser put in but want to make sure the rebate is still available?
Thanks

Read up that the rebates are still available until the end of June. For around 5000 solar installations.

Having mine installed tomorrow. Where are you based?

2x200l evacuated tubes. Direct.

Cool. I thought the 5000 was only until end March. Must've missed the June part...

I'm in North Eastern suburbs Joburg.
Who's doing the installation for you?
Thanks

Did you do your solar geyser? Had mine done on Thursday and quite happy so far.

I can't find any information regarding the new rebate scheme that will be run by the DoE from 1 May and I need to decide today whether I want to get a solar geyser on the Eskom rebate program.

That is a fair point. On the one hand they want to reduce electricity demand by stimulating the solar geyser uptake, but on the other hand we all know government does not have sufficient funds when it comes to sensible spending or investment.

Did my solar through Suntank and they claim the rebate and price already discounted.
15700 including a timer for a 200lt installed. 5yr guarantee and seems to be working just fine after a week.

Anyone know of a installer in CT that would do a installation tomorrow to make the deadline? That search on the Eskom website is rubbish.

What is price of installation of solar geyser - equipment + labour?
What is size of rebate?

My qoute is R24800 less the rebate of R5300 for a 200 litre solar geyser, but it also includes about R1700 for additional work they have to do since it is not a standard installation.

Thanks. What made yours not a standard installation?
