I got a R12k rebate on mine when I had it installed. Fairly decent I reckon. Hopefully CT does something similar.

I used Teljoy Solar. I had to sign a rebate form which they then claimed back from Eskom and just reduced my final invoice.

no not yet. did start looking into heat pumps, but I decided that for now my solar geyser works like a dream. my bill only went up +-R50 - R75 during winter

I'm still planing on getting one in the near future.

You can have both for a type of redundancy, but my understanding is that you only really need a heat pump if you don't have enough sunshine on your roof.

I had my system installed recently from SolaHeat. It's been working great in the heat, but I guess winter will be the real test.
