Solar Panel Support Structure (not on roof)

I am thinking to use some concrete weights. Similar to those used for umbrellas.
If you're certain that you dont want to secure the frame to a wall then something like this may work

It's not rocket science, unless you are poking fun at his words? He obviously meant charge the batteries.

So if its so easy, why dont you just tell us all. !!!
Done what successful?

Connect solar panels to this Mecer .... Is there an option on the unit for it?

Did ya all miss the part I noted in BOLD

The Mecer 2400V has an optional solar charger to charge the batteries with solar.

Solar Charger Controller (confirm with GeeWiz if it is the correct one):

I don't know of someone who have done it yet.

even if the inverter doesn't have a built in charger you can just use an external charge controller.

imo you should just build a custom one out of shelving material

this kind of thing:

it means no drilling or anything, simply, make an L with two of peices by bolting them trough the holes and then use a third as a brace to make a triangle, make two of those (or even 3) and join them together with 3 more peices.

then buy yourself 1.2m lintels to use as ballast.

Sorry, I was just taken aback by the question since all inverters can be used with solar if you have the right solar charge controller and know which wire must be connected where. I thought you were being sarcastic.

Linky please if you know where to get that locally. :D

This may work....

Came here to say this, i love buying from Sustainable for last 4 years now, i recommend EVERYONE to them

@RedViking i am keen to see the setup later and the reviews on your awesome puppy.
i see some models can take a solar panel, i think thats awesome especially as loadshedding stages are getting worse.
But what interests me the most is that during the day you are putting in quite a few amps so your batteries are going to be pretty healthy once ESKOM kicks back in

and that means MORE life cycles out of the batteries

Its a no brainer, solar assisted inverter ftw

I definitely won't happen this year. But once I have a cost effective solution to mounting solar panels I hope to do it in Jan/Feb.

looking forward to it, you won't be sorry and your batteries will love you

No No :giggle:, I truly wanted to know as I was originally told my Axpert 1Kva inverter is not solar compatible, but if there is ways to make it work, I would like to know and learn about them.
