SolarAssistant - Anyone using it?

Awesome, thanks bud.
Lol I know they're in PTA, but no idea where. There's no address on their website.

I'm so gatvol of this Solarman app, so I can't wait for my kit to be delivered.
Worth the wait, trust me

That's awesome to hear, thanks.

Reading this thread actually helped me make up my mind.
I tried spinning up an instance of Home Assistant with an inverter integration, but it didn't give me the realtime data I want.

Sorry to resurrect this thread guys...
I just ordered my Solar Assistant kit.

Any idea how long these dudes take to deliver? Their communication (or lack thereof) is horrible.

I'm hoping I don't have to contact them for issues I might have.

I ordered on Thursday it arrived on Monday.

Got email on Friday.

Thanks all...
Kit arrived yesterday. Connected and working.

Just a question though - does the battery gauge on the dashboard show 0 when its not in use? I haven't load shedded yet so I'm not sure. I'm able to see all other data though.
NB: I bought both inverter and battery cables.

Did a quick change on my system to show you.

Awesome, thanks bud!
Enjoy your FriYay!
And you too.

I personally find Solar Assistant to be a very decent system.
Like that its real time and I can monitor and make changes anywhere in the world.

Absolutely.
It is really mind blowing having a real-time system after using Solarman for the last few months.

Expensive bit of kit, but I think it actually makes me a little bit less insane of a person, especially when trying to monitor my battery percentage during load shedding

Inverter modes?
I assume its the ability to change inverter settings through the mqtt Solar Assistant interface to HomeAssistant

So perhaps you have an automation that tips up battery from the grid if LS is starting in 45min and batteries are less than X%

No luck on side yet, running a Deye inverter.

I'm also not seeing the mqtt topic on either of 2 mqtt brokers yet.

Are you on the Beta channel and latest FW? I noticed on mine only 1 of the topics "Response" was being published but the topic with the Inverter setting is not

I am on the beta channel and did the update earlier. I had some issues with my BMS last year and I think he might have moved me over to another branch for testing purposes.

I'm not in to much of a hurry, tbh. Will give it another few weeks :)

For guys with SunSynk / Deye, what do you get from this that you don't get natively with Solarman?

Initially it was:
1) quicker updates of info
2) better / easier integration into HA for automations
3) easier remote management and updates of inverter settings
4) better battery monitoring than provided just by the inverter

But I believe the latest Solarman updates have closed the gaps on the first 3

I sent them an email with details so maybe they'll fox it this week. Will keep you posted

Been up since 11pm yesterday so forgive me.

So to see if I understand:-
Sunsynk inverters now come with their own logger (WiFi)' and service but it's not realtime. Apparently can integrate with HA.

If you want a realtime data feed you need solar assistant ? But 900 for software and then about 600 for cables (1 for inverter and another to battery) . I have a Hubble but no RIOT

My inverter is going to be about 25m from my home assistant box or the closest network point (I could run one I guess). But I have rock solid WiFi so hence it could be an option. I have a few raspberry Pis 3Bs and I can connect a WiFi dongle to it .

But perhaps Sunsynk software could be good enough? If I can save moolah then that would be great.

Would appreciate thoughts please.
