In your head...
Went to see it last night and I have mixed feelings about it. There were definitely standout moments and plenty of action.
But it also left me with questions. Things I wanted answered that didn't come up.

I mean it follows Canon quite clearly, but in the battle of Mimban there were very few storm-troopers and the Empire seemed very disorganized during the battle. Like rag-tag militias mixed with AT-ST walkers.

Darth Maul's appearance was a surprise later in the movie and sets the scene for maybe another Star Wars Story spinoff.

I think I'll wait for a download of this. The trailers are so bad that I'm struggling to believe this film is worth spending money on.

It's worth going to see it. They just left room open for more spin-off movies. A Lando movie, Darth Maul movie. Hell even Qi'ra could get a spin-off from this.

I had no idea that Darth Maul was in it...

If you're a Star Wars fan then definitely go see it. It isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination

Went to see it Thursday. I loved it. I absolutely love Donald Glover

It’s a great, fun, adventurous and high paced movie.

As to why this has missed the mark – I believe imho its because it doesn’t have that traditional Jedi/Rebel alliance vs the Dark side, good vs bad story line.

Its basically a movie about how a guy wants to become a pilot and get back to his long lost love. For the most part of the movie there isn’t really a single or common enemy/villain. He is up against different obstacles as the movie progresses and has to work around these using the skills we know he has - having seen him in action in original series. So from that perspective it kind of doesn’t have proper direction and just moves along.

Its still super fun to watch.

I had mixed feelings about Solo as well: filling in bits of the back story regarding Chewie was cool, but I wasn't quite sold on Qi'ra TBH

Went to watch in normal 3D, it's way too dark, will have to rewatch in 2D.

I've found that "regular" 3D films tend to be too dark, whereas the IMAX 3D is way better (and pricey). So we either stick to 2D, or else pay the extra for IMAX tickets

Except Solo is not available in IMAX 3D (or SceneXtreme) :(

Well SterKinekor website only has it as normal 3D. So that's what I am going on. Also only had it listed on normal 3D last week. The Grove as the cineplex.

I watched it at Grove in imax, it may have been pulled already though, it's really not doing well. I watched 8pm on opening night at it was about 1/3 full.

It's a website bug, if you browse to it the wrong way it doesn't show you the imax options.
It also especially happens if they start pre-selling a new unreleased movie on imax, then the options sometimes disappear.

Tried to watch it in 2D last week at Bayside Mall and it was so blurry and dark we walked out and got a refund.

Went again tonight to Bayside (2D again) and it was a bit clearer but still very dark. Spoiled the movie for me.
