hey guys.

i have no programming knowledge or anything. I wonder if anyone can help me.
I am gonna backup alot of old games, movies, series and music to an external hard drive. I want to have a program that will display info on stuff, with tabs for each categorie: games, movies, music, tv shows. and in each categorie a list in alphabetical order, and when you click on a name it will open up a page with info on selected item- screenshot, actors, length, ect. all info will be added manually, so it must be able to read and write to a database or something.

I have no idea what i just asked. but if someone can maybe give me details on how to add one and tabs, ill be able to just duplicate evrything and fill in the blanks.....

hope this makes sense! lol....

thanks!

I'm sure a Google search will direct you to a free program that will do just that for you. No need to write it yourself I reckon.

I'll take a peek now myself...

This is probably the type of thing you are looking for but it is shareware and not freeware. I'm sure there must be freeware out there somewhere.

http://www.sofotex.com/Media-Manager-download_L18410.html

I entered "free *** system organiser" (without inverted commas) in Google and substituted the *'s for movie, music, file and got a lot of results. It is just a matter of filtering through them, or tweaking the search and I'm sure something will come up.

Or even better someone on here may be able to suggest something they use.

Is there nothing listed here? Hopefully Garyvdh will come along and paste 50 options as usual :p

That's why you must give your threads proper names, not just help me!

It is possible to create an app for yourself,if the details and everything is added manually then yeah, just create a program to read/write/modify to a database...simply app really...let me know if you don't come right with the google searching! :)
