howzit everyone

wonder if someone can help

1.how i set all applications to ask which access point i want to use?
so that i can chose wifi when im in a wifi spot instead of using 3g/gprs all the time?
2. is there a way to make the keyboard like a nokia style keyboard? with predictive text?
3. is there a log application?like on the nokias?where we can monitor data usuage and call logs?
4. is there a messaage application with inbox , outbox,drafts, saved,etc etc?

1) setup autoconnect for all the access points you use ( save the passwords ). Android will automagically stop using 3G if it has a wifi connection..
2)No idea, but i do know you can load more keyboard profiles ( i loaded the morse code one )... Maybe go search the market place
3)I use a tool called 3g watchdog to keep track of my 3g usage. The normal call log keeps track of calls in & out & missed - search market place
4)Yes - desire comes with 2. the HTC branded app and the gmail native app

This phone is heavilly intergrated into gmail. I setup all my contacts on gmail before i switched my phone on the first time...... It synced perfectly....

Get wisync from the market. Not perfect but does a reasonable job of turning off background processing when off wifi

In keyboard settings you can enable or disable these things. Sense UI phones have more options than stock android. I don't know if it's 'like Nokia' but it does the above

Check the Market - there are several. I don't know if they're 'like Nokia' but they do the above

Again, several. The default android messaging app does this and then there are other apps like Chomp SMS and Handsent SMS that add even more functionality

Thanks guys

also how do i get my calender entries from my n96 to the desire?
is there a "pc suite" type program for htc?

1. If you have connected to a AP before the phone will automatically switch as soon as it is in range. The phone won't automatically connect to a AP if you haven't explicitly connected to it before (Security reasons mainly)

2. You don't mention what Android phone you have, but the default HTC Sense keyboard has predictive text and you can switch it over to a 'normal' T9 style keyboard (Like a conventional phone). Better bet is to look for 'Swype' on the xda developers forum. Swype is awesome.

3. There's an app for that. I use 'NetBilling'

4. The built in messaging app has that. Otherwise look in the market for one of the alternatives.
