Some Payfine/Paycity advice pls

The wife has about 3k in outstanding fines for the Midrand/JHB area. Some of these are more than a year old and have no doubt in the mean time, turned into warrants.

Can we settle all her outstanding fines and outstanding warrant penalties on this payfine/paycity site regardless of which Metro the offence occurred in and how old they are? I don't want to go through the hassle of registering and starting to pay only to find out that not all fines are on there. Anyone here use that site? Is it dependable?

Alternatively. Where in Midrand must she go to pay off her fines if we don't use the site? She got pulled by the metro clown a while back and was informed that she'll go to the slammer next time she goes through a road block with outstanding fines.

And yes, she's getting an 80cc scooter for her next birthday.

so, do you want advice on buying a scooter or on paying the fines?
 
You can't settle fines that have warrants issued on the internet. You have to go to their offices and settle there.
Payfine/paycity will show you that.
 
How do you fit all those hard drives in your case, why are you using such a big ass screen and what are your SuperPi 1MB results?
 
The only time they will issue a warrant is if you've been issued a summons to appear in court and you ignored it. If that was the case, your wife would probably have been arrested already, and if she hasn't, she soon will be. The only way to sort that out would be to go to court. Although you'd need a very good excuse to avoid a sentence for contempt of court...

Not true. We went down to the licensing dept of Ekhuruleni (or however it's spelt). Her list of fines for that metro, totalled 1000. One of which, was a 100 rand fine from 18 months ago which had turned into a warrant because she missed payment date and her court date. That 100 rand fine turned into a 400 rand penalty and the nice lady behind the cracked safety glass recommended we pay it first as that one will mean immediate arrest. The fact is we could pay everthing, fines and penalties for issued warrants on the spot. I'd be very surprised if it was different for other municipalities.

Question is what is she doing to get those fines :D never had a fine here since I started driving
 
a fine does not autamatically = a warrant

my dad has 3.5k outstanding fines, some from 2 years back. We got pulled over in one of these "checking for warrants" road blocks, and the guy said he is good to go, as he only has fines.
 
How do you get a fine and not pay it? I understand you can forget or you're stubborn and want to "stick it to the man" or something.

But WTF? Seriously? If I had 3k in fines in the last 12 years it would be a lot.

I'd let them arrest your wife so she can spend a night in jail to scare her into paying up immediately WHEN she ****s up and perhaps drive a bit less insane

I think we know that, its when a summons is issued and you fail to appear in court that the judge grants a warrant of arrest.
