My sister just bought a XBox with Kinect for her kids, and I was tasked to set it up. Not being a console user I'm a bit clueless as to all the features. Is there a manual somewhere you can download giving detailed information?

I see the voice recognition isn't available for SA. Any way to enable this (or does a software update add support)?

Most of the Xbox setup process is self-explanatory. Just plug it in, create a profile and get playing. Make sure you've connected via HDMI cable for the best experience on a HDTV.

Yes, I think voice recognition is available in our region via software update.

Uhm...what do you need a manual for?

If you managed to operate a PC long enough to post on this forum...then you can operate a console.

It's more about finding the hidden features, or something that doesn't jump out at you immediately. The console has already provided about 8 hours of fun. Setting it up was easy as can be and didn't have any problems using it. I wonder if the kids actually went to bed. Then again those Kinect games seemed to be quite exhausting. :)

They don't have an internet connection so I might have to download the update and load it onto a CD for them.

you could also use a usb flash drive to update the console. :-)

The updates are very small. I just bought the XBox Kinect for the kids and each update for the games was 1-4MB. Thats small enough to donwnload using your phone for tethering.

If you have one of the newer games, it should tell you to install the newest updates first, before you can play. Then it should install from the game disk.
My voice commands works, but I'm not to fond of using it.
