I got a new sim card for my granny's phone yesterday and the Vodashop in Tyger Vallei did a sim swop. That was yesterday morning. They said it will take 2 - 24 hours for the new sim to be activated.

The phone still says: SIM card registration failed.

Could someone please help here?

Thanks.

Best is to call 111 / 155. They've got the on-line systems to help you.

Errr try another sim, thats a phone problem, not a sim issue, IMO.

I phoned 082111 now. The Vodashop in Tyger Valley didn't do their work properly. The sim swop request was not prossesed yet.

And now, it's not a phone problem. I was albe to change the access codes on the sim with the phone without any problems so it does pick up the sim.

If registration failed it means that the sim is not picked up on the network.

Lol Ok, I guess I didnt wanna say its another Nokio problem haha.
Ps Google Sim card registration failed

I think ill stay out of the Vodacom section.....

No, this is a "people not doing their work properly" problem.

Now she have to come all the way from Stellenbosch again to sort out the problem.

That's what is happening to all the business. Pathetic service, that's what we all get.

And to think, there was a time I wanted to change from MTN to Vodacom.

It won't make much difference. Same thing happened to my wife at MTN shop in the George Mall on Monday. We waited 48 hours before calling MTN only to find out that the SIM was never submitted. It seems to me that the cell phone stores are mostly run by bored kids. I think the solution is to expect ineptitude and make damn sure they at least give you decent service.

We should all be used to such service by now. If you're not, then get with the programme, because it can only get worse.

Did a Sim Swop today.
Same message "SIM card registration failed"

Grrr. If that dude didn't do his job at the shop I am going to go over there tomorrow and give him a piece of my mind.
