Someone gave xrapidx a 40D

Just checked - I can find the mark within the first seven days of buying the camera - thats before I took the lens off.
 
Yip, what BigAl-sa said. Print it *and* put it on a card (with EXIF attached so they can see the date).

If they had even looked on the camera's LCD they would have seen the problem.
 
Took it back - the guy took a bit longer this time - and he checked afterwards. Seems to be gone now :) I'll check later on PC.

Thats what bugged me - Its extremely easy to spot.

Oh well - all fixed now (hopefully)... and it was free.

I have noticed three little black spots on the viewfinder screen... the one I initially complained about is gone.
 
Now that this seems to be sorted - anyone got tips on keeping the sensor dust free? Like when changing lenses, etc.
