Something a bit different inside, come look!

I hear you, but at what cost?
Price difference for 10Mbps, 20Mbps, 40Mbps, or flat fee?

Regards,
Chris

It is difficult to decide on that - Individually priced on various speeds might work. However it is done I just don't want it to negatively affect your network. My Fatpipe account is blazing at the moment. Also if you offer a 200GB/250GB special can the people who bought the 100GB upgrade their account easily?

We know what our network is capable and there is a lot of analysis which goes into our planning, we also don't want you to suffer with a bad network.

As far as the upgrades between accounts, you will need to contact the Service Center / Sales on that. I'm just a geek who makes things work.

Currently paying R299 p/m for my 4MB ADSL line with Telkom. If you could bundle the 4MB ADSL line + 25GB + Bolt-on for R399 per month that would be a sweet deal :)

Glad to hear it. A certain other ISP hasn't got a cooking clue and quite frankly doesn't know its arse from its elbow, and their CEO has pulled a Doctor KW move on us.

Look, your fatpipe data is currently performing way better than your competitors. Yes, you charging a premium but it's worth it. Roughly R3.20 per gig vs R1.69-R2.00 of the Axxess, Afrihosts of the world.

I reckon selling your capped data below R2 per gig you would selling yourselves short but at R3.20 a gig it's a stretch for the unconverted.

Where WebAfrica have an advantage over conventional fatpipe accounts is they offer a ton of data to use between 12am-6am.

For R599 you can get 800gb to use between 12am-6am (which isn't rate limited) and 200gb to use during 'peak' hours.

Now bolt-on's huge advantage is it kicks in earlier and all weekend and for anyone with anything less than 10mb line the throttle is meaningless.

Even on a 20mb line, the bolt-on option would still be the better option IMO based on the time one could utilize it.

Bolt-on, in its current format, is an amazing product! But at R59 how is it even sustainable? Hell, it's a bargain at twice the price!!

If you were to sell a naked Bolt-on product with no peak time bandwidth and based on your current pricing module?

20mb Bolt-on R118

40mb Bolt-on R236

What would a market related price be?

20mb Bolt-on R350?

40mb Bolt-on R700?

Cool man - will look into that if that is the option but if I had a vote it would be for a Bolt on for Fatpipe or afterhours data (anything like that). The only reason I am currently holding on to me current ISP is the afterhours data.

Bolt-on makes a mockery of other after hours data concepts.

After hours for most ISP's is 12am-6am.

Bolt-on is 6pm - 6am and all weekend, that's 6pm Friday evening to 6am Monday morning!!

It's liberating!!!!!

I've done the WA dance. 12am-6am is 42 hours a week.

Bolt-on is 108 hours a week.... No comparison. Bolt-on is a competition killer! No doubt!! But incorrectly managed it's also a golden goose killer....

For sure I can see this being abused if not managed correctly :) It sounds fantastic and that is why it gets me very excited at the chance it might be offered :)

Agreed.

Even now I still only kick off large downloads late at night 23:00+ or have them scheduled. Even on weekends.

If they make this too affordable you just know some bandwidth butcher from another ISP will pound the line every available second.

That will degrade the service. No no no.

Just to add to what sandman suggested:

A 100gig fatpipe with uncapped bolt-on would be the perfect account for me(priced around R250). The bolt-on could even be rate limited to 4mbps to make the product sustainable. Many of us can't get higher than 4mbps because of exchange issues, so a 4mbps pricing tier would be nice.

20mb/40mb bolt-on's wouldn't be big sellers though! Let's face it, the demand for these packages would be minimal on account of the number of users with 20mb/40mb lines.

And your early adopters are likely to be your heavy lifters and not your mom and pop users!

How much?

R730 including line rental with VOX?

What kind of special on Fibre are you thinking of?

Telkom has 50GB daytime, plus unlimited night time for R849 on a 20MB line. A similar package that includes bolt on (so 5 extra hours of unlimited data compared against Telkom) and my arm will be twisted...

Right now you could buy 5x100GB Fatpipe accounts for R820 per month. How much bandwidth do you need?

Very nice sand_man! Now we're talking! What about bundling other services like back up, voice, mobile data, bundled line?

Chris

IMHO - Forget the add-on bundles and bolt ons and gimmicks - ideally focus on a quality capped per GB service at competitive prices (Your 100GB 50% off special is in the sweet spot for many users - it would be nice though if you allowed more than 1 session). If you want to add such services though please ensure they're limited to low demand periods and for goodness sake please do not oversubscribe your service. I think alot of capped users prefer a service that is available on demand at full line speed.
