Something a bit different inside, come look!

This seems to be very popular.

Cavedog, if you were in charge, how much would you charge for such an add-on to the incredible Fatpipe account? Would it be available over weekends like the Bolt on or just a range of times regardless of the day? Would it be limited to 10Mbps or line speed?

Regards,
Chris

Lets add it for free to all fatpipe accounts and run at line speeds but keep it from 00:00 to 6/7am Monday to Sunday. That would be a perfect balance for great speeds during the day but decent amount of "download bandwidth"when the network has free capacity.

This offering would make Vox with their FatPipe offerings way ahead of anyone else...

Other ISP's have the midnight to 6am window, if you want to better, then keep off-peak at 18:00-06:00 and weekends!

Perhaps you can even change the Bolt-on from uncapped to a pretty high amount i.e 100GB Fatpipe + 450GB bolt on and 200GB + 850GB etc etc. for off-peak times. This will stop bolt on abusers a little and if they want more they need to go uncapped. Also only unused Fatpipe data can roll over and not Bolt on data.

As suggested on a previous post Bolt On can be charged at an additional 30% of the capped package.

I want cheaper vdsl line rental. This discount could perhaps apply as long as a person has data with vox

Guys, I want to applaud you for the creative ideas you've shared! Well done to everyone.

I'll let you guys know what comes of this!

Bolt-On and News Server are my favorites so far.

Weekend Bolt-On will be kewl - however -sometimes I need to dl a few Gig file ASAP and so I would need to de-activate Bolt-On somehow to allow full line speed to counter the slower Bolt-On speed.

Enable thereafter.

We handle the speed on the back end. We engage the rate limit to 10Mbps at the specified times; if you are out of those times, you'll run full line speed.

Who can I bribe to disengage the rate limit? :)

Would also be willing to pay a fee to have 2-5 concurrent connections on Fatpipe. As it stands I will have one account that will have a massive amount of rolled over data after a year.

Drop Uncapped Bolt-On (it's just too open to abuse)

People will be less inclined to download it "cuz i can lol" and more inclined to use bandwidth responsibly while enjoying a good service at a good price.

Please stop spouting this crap about abusing the network. This is 2015, and people have high speed lines. You will always get the odd person who downloads 24 hours a day for a month, but don't restrict everyone else because of that.

No, some people have the absolute intent of pulling as much as they can and this is a reality for SA Telecoms. I'm not accusing you or anyone in this thread but the fact that Vox stopped selling Gig4Gig and even rate limited existing accounts to 10Mbs shows that they do indeed know that a few select abusers can ruin the network for everyone else.

My 100Mbs line is utilised less than 3% and I have 4 users constantly streaming, downloading and playing games. I know for a fact that some people genuinely use their line for stuff but some do just run theirs as hot as they can 24/7 because they want to get "value for money".

Then they can much rather target abusers with warnings and throttling for serious abusers, instead of spoiling it for everyone else. I am sure VOX and Chris know that the bolt-on is one of their best products, and they won't mess it up.

So here's your chance... What should our next special be??

You've got 48 hours to get these ideas in to me, keep it here in this thread, please don't abuse my inbox!

I think your service rocks. I am currently using your Samsung Promo and will then need to switch to some 200-300GB capped account or move to another uncapped solution (just not Afrihost). The biggest bandwidth usage are nightly backups and for me personally an ideal solution would be to have zero-rated/uncapped traffic from 00:00-06:00am and possibly Saturday/Sunday. If this was a bolt-on option I think anyone of your capped account packages are reasonable, otherwise I might need to look at uncapped which seem to be more expensive with Vox compared to others.

how would you abuse a capped product?

I am even more worried now after asking cvanwie about the time frames of this and whether we will know before the previous special ends. He just ignored this question, really putting me off from getting the 100gb fatpipe now :/

what the real diffrance between fatpipe lite 25gb and fatpipe 100gb

besides, data rollover and bolt on on the lite package

sharped vs not sharped?
on there site thing it says unsharped but on my user CP it says sharped

anyways i will still get the 100gb deal :)

The 25 GB with bolt-on is basically the old Gig4Gig data, it is shaped and not the same as Fatpipe.
