Something a bit different inside, come look!

Then they can much rather target abusers with warnings and throttling for serious abusers, instead of spoiling it for everyone else. I am sure VOX and Chris know that the bolt-on is one of their best products, and they won't mess it up.

On a side note ... there's a new package being offered where you can link the bolt on  it's known by some, but will finally be available on the web site in the next few days. This new thing, is not related to the special we will still reveal soon (tm). =)

I am even more worried now after asking cvanwie about the time frames of this and whether we will know before the previous special ends. He just ignored this question, really putting me off from getting the 100gb fatpipe now :/

Hey Fafa, sorry about that! I didn't intentionally ignore you. There's like 200 replies, if I missed one from you... sorry about that.

I'm not sure how me not seeing a message, relates to the amazing 100GB Fatpipe though. I understand if I hurt your feelings, for that I'm sorry.

For what its worth:

The 100GB Fatpipe special will end at the end of the month.
I am still not sure when the new special will be revealed. I still don't know what it is!

You can't dangle a carrot like that with no more info - lol.

Bolt-On is part of the Gig4Gig service. If you can find me someone who uses the Gig4Gig service without the bolt on let me know.

my gig4gig is prepaid. the bolt on is shaped uncapped. interesting and not sure how they can classify it together.

saw last night again. its been going for a while as well. I just fear the degradation will happen now with the visibility. was doing about 75% of linespeed. im not sure how people stream on that shaping but I will test. I know I cant vpn with my bolt-on till after midnight though. so its not all sunshine and roses. I don't even check usage. the dog just runs and works.

Why can't you VPN during bolt on times? We aren't limiting anything like that. Without giving away the cow ... the only time based rule I have in the system is bolt on related where we rate limit to 10Mbps between 6pm and 6am and on the weekends, ONLY if the "right" flag is on your account.

Please explain more about this VPN issue?

The 25 GB with bolt-on is basically the old Gig4Gig data, it is shaped and not the same as Fatpipe.

Pretty sure there is little to no difference between the quality of bandwidth. I think fatpipe is rate limited to 100mb making it suitable for fibre lines. Don't quote me though.

If you ask nicely I'm pretty sure they would waiver a cancellation period if you were wanting to migrate between packages.

Yea?
Dropping Bolt-On instead of reviving it like many suggested.

Why would they? Right now bolt-on is what differentiates VOX from all the other 'after hour' offers! And hands them a massive advantage I might add.

You might have to change the name of the product from bolt-on to hard-on cause that's what you doing to us geeks... :p

im using the citrix product to create a vpn connection via remote admin 3 to my workstation on my desk at work. before midnight the bolt-on cant maintain the vpn connection and it just crashes. when I move my mouse there is huge lag then it just gives up. ironically I had to purchase afrihost prepaid data to work during peak which is very inconvenient.

ive been on the phone with various of your technicians but they don't seem able to understand what im doing or how to solve it.

No, some people have the absolute intent of pulling as much as they can and this is a reality for SA Telecoms. I'm not accusing you or anyone in this thread but the fact that Vox stopped selling Gig4Gig and even rate limited existing accounts to 10Mbs shows that they do indeed know that a few select abusers can ruin the network for everyone else.

Bolt-on is 3 years old. When the product was first introduced I don't even think you could get 10mb in SA. With 10mb/20mb/40mb being introduced early 2014, one would have expected a R59 add-on to come under some structural changes including rate limiting it to 10mb and bundling it only with a few select packages. Abuse is only half the story.

Gig4Gig, and by extention Bolt-On.

I understand that Vox also has a 25GB+Bolt-On but it's not on their website so I don't consider it a "new product".

My opinion is, it's so new they haven't had time to update their website?

Q:Have they ever sold gig4gig 25gb + bolt-on for R148 in the past?
A: No
Conclusion: It's a new product

My opinions stand, and I hope Vox introduces products that will work for people with >10Mbs lines, like me.

Saying that "oh noo ur wrong lol vox has bolt on its a competition killer lmao ez pz"

Well I have a 100Mbs line and Vox's "competition killer" really doesn't interest me

You and maybe 5000 more, at best, have 100mb lines. Right now you're niche and hardly representative of the market at large, so yes, bolt-on is an offering that differentiates VOX from their competitors and for a good percentage of fixed line, home internet users, would be a worthwhile purchase.

BTW I'm also of the opinion that VOX should offer products that will work for people with >10Mbs lines. I stated as such on page 2...

why don't all your customers know about this special product?

It's been used as a client retention offering. It's been spoken about a few times in this thread and others... 25gb + bolt on (no roll over)

I think fatpipe is rate limited to 100mb making it suitable for fibre lines. Don't quote me though.

There are certain products which are limited to certain speeds; Fatpipe is not one of them. This is our premium service and for that, you must have the best experience possible.

Pay the best, get the best.

That's just bizarre! Please send me a private message with your DSL username, I will have a look at the settings now and then chat with our networking team about this issue.

Well I think most people have asked and/or suggested what they want by now - As much fun as it is to suggest new products and then not being able to disclose when they are coming - just send out the mass email to Vox clients when you can about it.
